TWENTIETH CENTURY
During the 1900s medicine advanced quicker than ever before. Communication was easier because of new technology, which made ideas spread more effectively.
Although the 1800s had many social reforms and new discoveries that improved live, in the beginning of the twentieth century morality rates in infants had increased. This called for the discovery of new medications and treatments. During World War I and World War II more of a focus was put on medicine on the battlefield. Techniques were developed to avoid infections and be more effective. New war technology caused drastic effects that most medics had never seen or new how to treat. Through the two wars medical research and medical treatment on the battlefield greatly improved. |
